BA Graphic Design Degree Show 2014

A set of two A2 posters printed on pearlescent paper in both black and white.

Promoting the BA Graphic Design Degree Show at Southampton Solent University this summer 2014, which I am exhibiting my final year work in. I wanted to focus on something purely typographical and felt stuck on where to begin...until I looked down at my keyboard and thought why not use that as a base to the design. Using the letters I created a path spelling out GRAPHIC DESIGN, with the 'START 2011' at the 'G' representing both the start of the path within the poster, and more importantly the start of my journey of becoming a graphic designer when the course began. Then the 'N' being the 'FINISH 2014' representing the end of the word path within the poster and the end of my journey on the course, and graduating. I have placed the body text around the keyboard design using keyboard symbols as navigation. By printing on pearlescent paper it adds interest and depth to the design, that you wouldnt get with just plain black or white paper.

A set of 2 invitations for the exhibition. Again printed on black and white pearlescent paper, but mixing the two paper stocks together so black is used for the front of the first invite and white is used on the back of the same invite to hold the information. Then opposite for the second invitation design - using the white for the front and black for the reverse side.
